Keep looking, and you may be treated to an appearance of the Aurora Borealis, which can be quite spectacular in our corner of the world.

Many guests come for the World-Class fishing and a chance to land a monster sized trophy on Kakagi (Crow) Lake, Lake of the Woods, or one of our remote portage lakes. Every year many guests will return to the lodge from a day on the water with a little trembling in the knees after seeing a fish that can only be described as unbelievable.

Boreal Bay Lodge

by on Sep. 17, 2009 (10:30:17 PM)

My brother Lou and I have been coming up to this resort from the Chicago area since 1966. The resort is located in a very picturesque spot overlooking a large bay on Crow Lake, a self fed, crystal clear, deep body of water. We brought our children with us from the time they were in diapers, and they are 26,27,28, and 29 years old. When they were children they enjoyed the natural sand beach, diving off of tall rocks, swimming, swings, and paddle boats as well as waterskiing in the bay. Our sons still comes up with us whenever they can break away from their jobs. Cabins are very clean and spacious. Boats are newer and very well maintained. We usually bring our own, but this year we hit a reef and we had to rent one from Boreal Lodge. It ran great. Service is excellent and Kevin is very informative and always there for you when you need help. We like Boreal's location. It's right off of the main road, Highway #71, on Crow Lake where we fish for trout, smallies, and big muskies. I got a 49 inch muskie as well as an 18.5 lbs trout both in one day, 1/2 an hour apart! We also portage into other lakes for walleyes, northerns, and b[beep](Lake Cidertree), and Lake Jesse where we catch 100 plus smallmouth b[beep]in one day! Boreal Lodge has boats on both of these lakes as well as on Lake of the Woods. We highly recommend this resort!
